Check your AI's work before you send it to your boss.

Read an AI draft on purpose before someone acts on it.

Why AI drafts sound sure even when they are wrong

An AI draft is written to sound finished. It keeps that sure tone even when a fact is missing or a step was guessed, so the confidence is part of the writing, not proof the draft is right.

Four quick checks

Anyone can do these before they hit send. You don’t need a technical background. If a check fails, fix the draft or say what you have not checked.

  1. Find the one assumption the whole draft rests on. Read the recommendation and name the thing that has to be true for it to work. In a made-up memo about moving support to a cheaper outside firm, that thing is the saving surviving the handover. If it is shaky, the rest of the draft is shaky too.
  2. Check every number and every name against the source. Open the file, the email, or the page the draft used, and find each figure and each name there. If it is not in the source, take it out or mark it as not checked.
  3. Ask what would make the recommendation wrong. Say it in one plain line. If you can’t say it, you don’t yet know the risk you are passing on. For the made-up memo, the line might be that the saving disappears once the new firm is doing the work.
  4. Pick one cheap test you could run before deciding. A cheap test is a small check you can do soon that would change your mind if it failed. For that same made-up memo, it is a short paid pilot on one queue. Do the test, or say why you are sending the draft without it.

Why a second AI helps

The assistant you drafted with can share its own blind spots. A second AI from a different company is there to argue the other side. The judge never comes from the company behind your AI, so it won’t share its blind spots.

Doing it with Grill

Say “grill this” in the assistant you already use, then paste the draft and what you plan to do with it. You get a verdict line, the sharpest point, and one cheap test. The call stays yours.

The boss-memo example is made up, to show the format. A person is about to send a draft that recommends moving support to a cheaper outside firm. Nothing in that example is a real decision. Get started when you are ready.
